About the Event
Purpose of the Event:
The Global Day of Repentance on September 2, 2023 from 9 AM EST to 2 PM EST is a solemn and reflective occasion dedicated to the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. It aims to provide a platform for all participants to come together in prayer, remorse, and repentance for the historical and lasting impact of the Transatlantic Slave Trade over the last 400 years. Through this event, we seek to acknowledge the painful history of the Diaspora, promote healing, and pave the way for unity and liberation among all people of African descent. The day's observance aligns with the mission of the United Nation of Yisrael (UNY) by emphasizing the importance of collective healing and fostering a unified future.
The United Nation of Yisrael has secured a room block of 30 rooms with a nightly rate of $99 at the Westin Crystal City Reagan National Airport Hotel. The room block is available for the night of September 2, 2023, ONLY unless you are flying in or driving a long distance. In that case, you would need to reserve a day early for the night of September 1, 2023. The deadline to reserve your room at the discounted rate is August 21, 2023. Please note that this is just a hold and that you will not be charged until you check-in.
You are responsible for your travel to and from Westin Crystal City Reagan National Airport Hotel and to and from Freedom Plaza where the event will be held. If you are flying to the event, be sure to book your incoming flight to Ronald Reagan National Airport on September 1, 2023, and your outgoing flight on September 3, 2023. For transportation to the hotel, feel free to utilize the complimentary Westin Crystal City Reagan National Airport shuttle service or reserve an Uber or Lyft.
We strongly encourage all attendees to wear the "Repent" T-shirt on the day of the event. Proceeds from t-shirt sales go towards our efforts of unifying our brothers and sisters throughout the African Diaspora and furthering our nation-building efforts.
If you are unable to attend the event but still want to contribute or are attending the event and still want to contribute, visit this page to donate towards these efforts.
